The Crown Solicitor, Mr. N. A. Foden, is to be present at the Eoyal Commission dnto the administration of the Napier Public Hospital, ooxnmencing at the Supreme Court, Napier, next week. Three medieal men, i)r. J. Cairney, Dr. j. B. Boyd, and the pathololist at the Wellington Hospital, Dr. J. 1'. D. Lynch, will also be present in Napier for the dnquiry. It is >anderstood that Mr. Foden and Dr. Cairney will probably be in Napier for a fortnigkt, and the remaining doctors for one week. Army Medieal Corps. The endeavour to form a Napier unit of the New Zealand Army Medieal Corps has not yet materialised, but it seems likely that the requisite number of names will shortly be obtained. The regulafions provide that intending members should be between the ages of 18 and 32 and would be required to do 36 hours drjll a year, including week-end camps, and 36 hours drill in an annual camp, and pass tho required "medieal examinations as to fitness. A number of names were handed in at a meeting held recently, and further names have been received sinca the meeting. It is to be hoped that in the near future Napier will have a fullyequipped medieal unit of earnest men. Baths for Taradale. There seems to be some prospect of the proposed baths for Taradale soon becoming an accomplished fact. The deputation from the baths committee, comprising Messrs G. Webb (chairman), J. H. Wilkinson (secretary), F. O. Anderson and Dr Will, with whom were associated Messrs J Williamson (chairman of the Town Board) and W. G. Jarvis (town clerk), who waited on the Hon. P. C. Webb, acting-minister of Labour, in Napier a few days ago, were very sympathetically received, and althongh the interview took place in cameira it is understood that the prospects are most hopeful that substantial assistance will be forthcoming to provide labour through the department to supplement the finance being organised by tlie committee and the Town Board.
