£200 Voted to Crippledl Children Society HASTINGS COMMITTEE MEETS A meeting of the committee in charge of the Lord Nuffield (Fund was held in, the Mayoral Chambers, Hastings, last evening, the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, preeiding. The committee had before it a big number of applications for grants and assistance. It was decided to make a donation of £200 to the Ha,wke's Bay braneh of the New Zealand Grippled Children Society, and all applications made on behalf of eirppled children were referred to that organisation. v Mauy of the'cases before tho committee concerned people suffering from deafness, and arrangements were made through Mr C. Lassen, chairman of the Hawke's Bay Hospital Board, to have these applicants medically examined and to have a report provided to the committee on each individual _ case. Upon receipt of these reports the committee will then consider the matter of making grants.
