British Lines Will Be Protected LONDON, June 8. "The Imperial Conference of 1937 will be memorable for its determination not to allow British shipping to be driven out of the Pacific," says the Daily Telegraph in an editorial. "Never was thero a clearer case for assistance. The Dominions ."oncerned will join Britain in guarantees to provide modern ships of adequate speed and varying capacity. "Australia and New Zealand are holding in suspense the legislation already carried to bar foreign vessels from traffic between the two Dominions. It may prove that, with growing prosperity, there will be sufficient trade for both the Americans and ourselves^ Ac--commpdation, as between the Empire and the United States, might well he brought within the circle of finure agreements."
