OHURAKURA-TE POHUE
The third meeting of the year was held on Friday, Mrs. Brooks presiding over a good attendance, tgespite the rough, weather. Arrangements for the annual ball were- finalised and notices from tho Northern H.B. Federation were read and discussed, The competitions for the month reiulted as follows: — Seed cake, Mrs. At"kins 1, Mrs. Hankin 2, Mrs. Elliott 3. Article from one yard Britway, Mrs Elliott (rompers) 1, Mrs. Hankin (child's apron) 2. The points prizes for the last six months was won by Mrs. Elliott, with 39 points; Mrs. Hankin, with 29 points, was second, and Mrs. Atkins, 26 points, third. The roll call, one-inch cut from a newspaper, brought forth many and varied replies. A very interesting demonstration of hairpin work was given by Mrs. Brook^, who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. ' The afternoon closed with the singing of the National Afcthcm.
