Rissington Gathering
The June meeting of the Rissington Women 's Institute was held in t.ke hail, the president, Miss fcSpence, presiding over a fair attendance. All the members joined an reciting the Institute Ode. After the usual business had been dealt with, the speaker for the day, Mr. E. L. Cuilen, M.P., gave a veiy delightful and- interesting talk on native birds, which was mueh appreciated by all. A very hearty. vote of thanks was accorded the speaker., The roll call was, anecdote or quotation on a native bird. Eive-minute talks were given by two members, Mesdames Carmichael and J. McLean. A competition, naming pictu'res of native birds, was won by Miss Erea Howell, with Mfs. Hines second. The liostesses for the day were Mesdames TolJison and Hughes. The singing of the Hational Anthem brought to a close a very interesting afternoon. »
