AUCKLAND, This Day, The final gallops in eonnection with the Great Northern meeting at Ellerslie this morning attr&cted a large number of speetators. There were several schooling bouts over the hurdles on the course proper, and five horsCs Went togfether over the hill. Scotland and Prince Acre were in front of Knight of Australia at the end of six furlongs run in 1,22 2-5. Scotland .went well. King Rey was well clear of Grand City in a round in 2.0 1-5. King Rey pleased over a similar .distanCe. Te Hai and Armacqiirt registefed 2.0 3-5. Adalene beat Aero Queen over five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. Hiuskie and Erination were associated over a round, the last half-mile in 59secs. Yalhiint agaih pleUsed Over BOven f urlongs, in which fie fittished clear of Crooning in 1.35 4-5. Greek Gold was doing better than De Friend over six furloiigs in 1.21 4-5, the first three in 40 2-5sees. Greek Gold shaped well. Whirling was holding Light Comedy safely at the end of six furloiigs in i.24 1-5. Royal Limond (Beale), Tangled (McDowell), and Pahu (Ridgway^, gave a solund display over four hurdles on the coturs© proper. The trio jumped well, and timed frOm hurdle to hurdle they took 1.27 2i-5. Modern Maid (R. E. Thomson);, Engliehman (A. Gilmer), and Valpeen (McDoWell), were associated OVer five hurdles, fhe first-named impressing most. Sandy Dix (McGovern) accoinpanied them over the first four hurdles, giving a dashing display and being right up with Modern Maid, who was in front at the finish. Timed from hurdle to hurdle Modern Maid took 2.24 3-b. High Star (McRae), Keith Lu (A. Gilmer), Huutsman's Choru's (Baker), and La Femme Noir (R. Smith), finishBd in that order over four hurdles in 1.25 3-5. Over the HiR. London (J. Day), Thespis (T. Williams), JBooklaw (Watson), Tea Chat (Tmrvey), and Right Royal (Cotter), were associatedi ig a school over a round of the jBteeplechase course. They got through their task safely, With the exception of Eight Royal, who bauIEed at the stonewall at the bottom of the hill. London led throughout, and gave a first-class display. Thespis also fenced well, except for hitting the last obetacle, fbe Stonewall. Booldaw ran round the second fence of the double the first time, bnt jumped the othcr obstacles all right. Prince of Orange schoolea satisfac torily over four hurdles.
