WANGANUI, This Day. Heavy showers fell overnight, but the weather was fine for training work this morning, the going being in good orde'r. Mandamus (Edwards) ran six furlongs in 1.16$, doing it nicely. Brazen King (I. Eastwood) took 1.17 4-5 for the same distance. Parakino and Master Norval were associated over seven furlongs, the former finishing a shade in front and going nicely, in 1,31 4-5. Airing and j
Chote proved much too good for Koura Rua over six furlongs, registering 1.16$. Captain Treville easily beat Irish Isle over half a mile in 50 4-5sec. Platter (N. Trillo) jumped the big fences indifferently. Croydon (Trillo) gave an exeellent display of fast, clean jumping, clearing elevon fences, Ethiop (T. Tito) schooled well over five hurdles. Journet, Tiger Gain, John Charles, Hunting Queen, Clarion Call, Contact, Red Bufus, Helois and a number of others did useful work. Dietate and Ben Braggie did trotting exercise^ Eeipar was not worked; his dieky leg i was baudaged.
