YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH
Collapses Under Anaesthetic

AUCKLAND, This Day. When an anaesthetic was being admiyistered to prepare Doreen Lily Paton, aged 18, for a tonsil operation in a City surgery yesterday, the giri collapsed and died.^ The girl developed a cold and sore throaj; a few days ago, and on Tuesday a doetor was called. Yesterday he called for the girl in his car and took her to the surgery and had Only started to administer the anaesthetic when she died. The father, Mr. William Paton, labourer, residing in Epsom, in evldence at the inquest to-day, said that the girl had complained that she found it hard to breathe. The coroner, Mr. E. K. Hunt, S.M., adjourr^d the inquest sine die.
