WELLINGTON, This Daj\ Holding that there Was a coiisiderable eleinent of skill in the competition, the Magistrate, Mr. E. D. Mosley, to-day delivered reserved judgment in i'avour of defendant in a case bi'ought by the police against Stewart John i( rancie, who tried a scheme he thought o^it in eonnection with Wellington Rugby roatches on April 17. At the hearing defendant ahowed that he did very badly out of it, and was not likely to repeat his effoi-t. He ba|t a £20 prize and all expenses to ni.eet against a response of about £6 to his eirculars.
