'OTANE, Last Night. The mohthJy meeting of the Otane School Cdmhiittce was held on Mouday niglit, Mr. A. E. Black presiding. The headmastcr, who was also present, repcfrted that the average attendance for the last four weeks was 150.8, and the roll number 167. The sehool reopened on Monday, May 24, aiid another week's holiday is to be granted m July. The distribution of hot cocoa at lunch time had ocmmenced, and the hot point ; recently installed was provIhg a great convenience for this service. Tho secretary was instructed to thank the Oentral II.B. Rugby Sub-Union and the Otane Football Club for gifts o± footballs for sehool use. It was deeided to procule a set of football jersevs for tho school team. It was deeided to write to the Education Department advising that the committee was willing to join. with Waipukurau in the. school millc scheme. The secretary ,is to make aTrangements to replenish the school supply of flrewood. The secretary reported that the arrangements . for the school plain and faney dress ball were well forwaTd. Accounts amounting to £8 19/9 were passed for payments.
