Sherenden Meeting Tlie May meeting of tlie Shorenttt'n Women 's Institute vras lielrl in the Sherenden Hall. Mrs Boyd presided ovor an extra good attendanee of members, and the meeting opened with tlie Singing of the National Anthem, Mrs Noel Beamish, the Institute 's delegate, gave an Interesting report of the annual Federation council meeting. The conipetitioii.s for the' day brouglit forth a good number of entries, partieularly in the florai exhibits. The results were: Deeorated basket of berry sprays, to be donc in live minutes: Seniors, Mrs N. Beamish, Mrs McGrane 2, Mrs Attwood 3; juniors , Miss M. Attwood 1. Best bloom in gardet)': Seniors, Mrs N. Beamish 1 and 2, Mrs Butt 3; .juniors. !Miss Tv. Matthews 1, Miss N. Connor 2, Miss M. Matthews 3. Pot of melon jam: Seniors, Mrs Attwood 1, Mrs McGrane Mrs N. Besmish 3; juniors, Miss N. Connor 1, kfiss M. Matthews 2. >Six pastry lingers: Reniors, Mrs Attwood 1, Mrs McGrane 2, Mrs Gibson 3: juniors, Miss M. Matthews 1. After a most enjoyable afternoon tea had been served there was a short eommunity sing. Mrs Treseder's singing and playing of the piano during the , afternoon was very much appreciated by. everyone.
