Takapau Sanitation Servlce. "Though the finances of the Takapau sanitation service department are watched very carefully, it is really icnpossible on the present charges to maka it pay, and the installation of more septic tanks each year decreases the revenue, thus making the position more difficult," said the chairman of the Waipawa County Council, Mr. N. M. Paulsen, in his annual report adopted at yesterday's meeting. He added that there was a slight loss on the year's working. The credit balance at the beginning of the year was £14 8/1 and at March 31, 1937, the account was £10 0/7 in credit. Waipawa County Water Rates. Since the last annual meeting of the Waipawa County Council, the Argyll water race has been re-organised and put on a better basis of rating. The main races and branch races have all been thoroughly cleaned and altogether £209 was spent on the race during the year. The balances on. the water rate accounts at March 31 were as follows: Argyll £87 5/3 (debit), Forest Gate £34 14/8 (credit), Lindsay £43 17/5 (credit). The credit balances of the
Forest Gate and Lindsay water races accounts have been greatly reduced and it appears as if the maintenance rates will have to be increased this year. — This information whs given at yesterday's annual oiecting of the council by the chairman, Mr. N.
