■ ^ ■ Wether Market Firm At Stortford To-day ERRATIC LAMB SALE A yarding of 14,000 sheep was offered ut Stortford Lodge to-day, when the market for wethers was firm, but easier than yesterday's values at Waipukurau for breeding owes.' Mt. Cameron wethers topped the market at 25/7, and a woll-done "Tauroa" Station line showmg a Corriedale cross, many being ready to hang up, brought 25/2. The market for lambs was erratic, with .a good inquiry for forward, healthy, well-woolled carry-over wether lambs. Nicely-grown shorn wether lacnbs made 18/9. Small-grown woolly sorts, light in condition, were slow to trade, making to 14/-. Five-year breeding ewes carrying a good slipe made 24/3, the selling for these lots being slow, with little inquiry. Realisations were as follow:— An entry of 163 small-grown woolly Romney wether lambs, in light condition but in hardy order, were passed at 14/-. ■ In from Kahuranaki, 195 well-grown early-shorn Romney wether lambs, in very good condition and in healthy, fresh, good-doing order, realised 18/9. Down ffom Kereru, 170 mediumgrown ' well-woolled hardy Romney wether lambs, a good carry-over entry, sold at 17/1. In from "Ngatarawa, » an entry of small-grown Romney wether lambs, well-woolled, in light condition but in healthy hardy order, were passed at 14/-. ' On account of Mr W. E. W. Ormond, Mt. Cameron, 252 early-shorn mediumgrown two-tooth wethers, in fair store condition, many being in better order than they looked, sold at 23/5. On account of Tauroa Station, 383 well-grown two-tooth wethers, including a Corriedale cross, the line in forward condition, met with ready competition to sell in a line at 25/2. In from Maraetotara, 170 smallgrown black-faced lambs, in fine store condition, brought 14/-. In from Hakowhai, Puketapu, 140 empty ewes carrying a good slipe, a useful fattening proposition, were passed at 14/6. Off Mr H. R. Clark's Awanui property, Rissington, 132 medium-grown shorn Romney wether lambs, in forward order, very healthy and should carry over well, sold at 17/5. On account of "Tauroa" Station, 116 mixed-aged ewes, well woolled and running with Southdown rams since March 10, sold at 23/6. On account of "Tauroa" Station, a line of Corriedale-cross two-tooth wethers, rather smaller grown than the tops out of this draft, but in good condition, made 24/3. On account of Mr H. R. Clark, 233 shorn Romney wether lambs, smaller grown than the tops of his 1 'Awanui" draft, made' 14/6. Also on account of Mr Clark, a line of empty four-tooth to four-year ewes, quite well-woolled and in medium condition, made 18/-. On account of Mr H. W. Yuoren, Rissington, a line of sinai! to mediumgrown well-woolled Romney wether lambs, the best carrying quite good order, made 14/8. The tops of the "Mt. Cameron" draft of two-tooth wethers, carrying quite good condition and a good length of wool, met the' market at 25/7. In from Tangoio, and off, hard hill country, a line of medium-grown woolly wether lambs, in hardy order, sold rather cheaply at 13/9. On account of Mr B/Taylor, a line of five-year ewes. well-woolled and runing with So/ithdown rams since March 10, sold at 23/6. On account of Mr T. H. Parker,

Maraetotara, an entry of' sound-moutk-ed ewes, well-frained, carrying a good slipe and in lamb to Southdown rams. sold at 24/3. On account of Mr F. H. Beamish, Whanawhana, an entry of two-tooth ewes in lamb to Southdown rams wera passed at 28/-.
