MARAEKAKAHO MEETING

The monthly .meeting of the Maraekakaho Women 's Institute was held in the hall, Mrs. S. Graham presiding. Proceedings opened with the National Anthem followed by the Institute ode. Mrs. Dasent presented the balancesheet of the xocent flower show, showing a very creditable balance. All who assisted were very heartily thanked. The prizes were then presented to winners by Mrs., T ur ner- W illiams/

Members were reminded that next month donations of jams, etc., were to be sent to the Children ;s Homes. Mrs. Turner-Williams, of Havelock North, gave a very interesting talk on England, outlining the numerous alterations which have taken place einee' her last visit 20 years ago. She was later thanked for her talk. The competitions for the day resulted as follows: — Best bloom, Mrs. H. Gascoyne; best buttonhole, Mrs. Ma*lean; prettiest plate, Mrs. J. Graham; best bowl of fiowers * Mrs. James. Competition of jumbled letters of articles used in connection with the Coronation, Miss Orchard. The afternoon was brought to a close with tea, the hostesses being Mesdaines Rarnni, James and Dasent.
