TANGOIO INSTITUTE'S MONTHLY MEETING
'.Cho May meeting of the Tangoio Wo-, .nen's lustitute was held at the resideiice of Mrs. E. McDonald, Mrs. Lowe presiding over a good attendance of members. Three visitors, Mesdames A. U. Brown, W. PhiJlips and 0. Kirkham, were welcomed. Tlie meeting opened with the Institute Ode and the motto, "He who ueyer makes mistakes seldom makes unything," was read. - Mrs. (Jollius then gave a full and mleresting report of tlie ^annual council meeting, and was accorded a hearty uote of thanks.4 This was followed by a demonstration of the making of fleece and thrift, aiats by Mrs. A. Brown, who displayed joveral splendid samples of her work. \ The roll call, " Children 'a funny snyings," was well responded to. The competitions for the month resulted: — ^Butter sponge, Mrs. Orr 1, ' vlrs. R. McDonald 2, Mrs. Hanua 3. Best Bloom, Mrs. fcjinclair 1, Mrs. Osborne 2. A saies table, in' charge of Mrs. .Jobnrue, did brisk business. After a delightful afternoon tea had been partaken of, Mrs. McDonald was thanked for her hospitality, and a most enjoyable afternoon was brought to a elose with the singing of the National Anthem.
