Loncon Affected By Holidays (Beceived 17, 1.0 p.m.) LONDON, May 16. The Coronation and the Whitsun holidays caused a general lack of interest, and the markets therefore wero unable to withstand desultory selling. Commodities also were subject to holid&v influences and were generally weak. Base metals were quiet and easier, with the exeeption of copper. The rubher market does not regard the Genuan import tax soriously, though it was refleeted by a slight declina in price. Butter is nninteresting, while apples are -in active demand, witlj priees steady, despite heavy arrivals.
