Japan Devalues Further to Encourage Exports (Eeeeived 17. 11.30 a.m.) TOKIO, May 16. The Government Has increased the purchase price of gold, raising the face Valde of the gold yen from 3.5 yen to 1.77 to encourage production for export, in ofdfef to cover the excess of Importa over exports.
