Central Power Board's 'Activity
WAIPUKURAU, This Day. Electric reficulation to settlers in the outer districts of Central Hawke's Bay is receiving the attention of tho Central Hawke's Bay Electric Powei Board. The seeretary, Mr J. K. Lee, has submittqd a rep>rt on tho matter, details of which are as follow: — ■ To give electric supply to Mr D. Butler and others on the Waipawa-Tiko-kino route, involving a distance of 6.3 miles, would cost, with five sub-stations, £1831. The prospectivo consumers have been advised of the amount of guarantee requirsd, namcly, £330 for a period of five years. The survoy of the proposcd extension of power south of Porangahau is not yet complete, but another day or so wili suffice tlie engincer's staff. To give supply to Mr Waitc, on Matliieson's road, between Tikokino township and Gwavas Station, would cost £308 and would require a guaran tee of £46 4/- for 10 years. But to take in the whole of. the settlers in that area would require an outlay of £893 6/9, and a guarantee of £135.
