Second Tragedy In Captain's Family BODY NOT REC0VERED

AUCKLAND, Last Ndght. The bay wHere the Yvonne w'as wrecked is inaccessibly stiuated, and creeks on the road are flooded, making transport difficult. The police at Coromandel are investigating. Captain Stenbeek's bod'y has not yet been recovered. The Yvonne is not xegister ed. She is ' regauded as a private yacht and makes occasional ■ trips to Sunday - Island, .carrying provisions to the settlers there, one of whom is a son of the vessel't; •agent in Auckland, Mr. Venables. She! is a 50ft. auxiliary ketch and was; bought in Sydney' about two years ago.-; Sinco then she has made a number of visits to the island. She does most ofi her work under sail, and on a previous l trip/when she was driven off her course, it took her two days to beat up to port. She was a familiar sight on the har-; bour, and between trips used to be moored alongsid® the Auckland Harbour Board's slipway. Captain Stenbeck was over 70 years: of age and was one of the best-known ; skippers on the New Zealand coast, - where he had been trading for the past 30 years or more. Prior to 15 years ago, he was the master of several brigantines, ineluding the Silver Cloud and the St. Kilda, in the inter-colopial trade and also on the i New Zealand coast. During the past 15 years Captain Stenbeck was mainly oceupied in the Island trade from Suva to Tonga and other - jPacifie Islands. 33b returned to Auckjland two years agO, when he broughi... ;here the Norwegian barquentine Isabel, jwhich is now trading around Kaipara. 'Since then ha had practically been retired, but his small, wiry form and goatee whisker was a familiar sight .about the waterf ront. He took comjmand of the Yvonne mainly as a form jof hobby. ; The disaster ; is the second tragedy injthe Stenbeck family. On February 20 a ■son, Cedric Stenbeck, aged 20, waa •fatally injured in a motor accident. I Accompanied by a pillion seat compan|ion, Stenbeck was riding a motor-cycla up Khyber Pass road, when he collided with the rear of a motor-truck which was turning into a side street. „
