AlAGTBjRTON, Last Night. Some plain speakingj was indulged in by the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, at a pubiio meeting last night when referring to the response in Masterton to the Priine Minister'e appeal for the, King George V. Memoial Fund. "I am disgusted with the people of this community," he deelared. "The cbildren's health camps are a form of national health insurance. We should have backed them up and yet what has happened? The response here makes me disgusted and sadly disappointed. "J am sorry to see a political question made of this job," he continued. "What did King George V. have to do with politics? The response made to a national appeal for a memorial to a loyal and beloved monarch disgusts me, "Here we have a rich district, whose wool eheque is stated to be wortb £3, 600, 000, and what do I get ? A miserly £150. A paltry six bales of wool. "Why make politics an excuse for not doing your job? I probably should not speek to you people but to others who are not here, but I trust the Press will do that for me,"
