Whyte's Enthusiasm The annual report of the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association contains the foU'owing items of interest to Hawke's Bay collie men, especially the reference to the veteran eompetitor judge And enthusiatio supporter of collie dog tfials, Mr W. Whyte, of Napier. The president of the asspeiation, Mr E. J, MacDonald, of Dannevirke, says : "I cannot let this opoprtunity pass withouf expressing my pleasure at the success of our veteran, Mr W. Whyte, with hjs two dogs, Boy and Boy VI., this season. Mr Whyte has always been among the top-notchers, and has shown us a wonderful lesson in preseverance, wliieh undoubtedly brings suecess. "I wish to express thanks to my colleagues on the executive for valuablo cq-operation and service, to the treasurer, socretary, to centre and club seoretaries, to the Sauth Hawko's Bay and Wairarapa centres, with special thanks to Mr C. J, MacDonald, Masterton, and his qfficerp for running the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Champipnships ; to Mrs A, Holden, Messra F, Arinstrong and W. Whyte for dona- , tions : to Messrs Walker and Hall and

Mr G. Helden for trophies; the Press and Mr N. C, Wylie (auditor). "In closing I have to express my regret at tlie resignation from the executive of Mr J. McHardy, who has been connected with sheep dog trials for over fifty years, a useful member of clubs, and has been connected with the association since its inception. He has also been a successful eompetitor; and judge, and I wish: you "all to join with me in recording our sincere th'anks for his useful and loyal service," the report conoludes.
