Hastings SuMJnion Makcs £20 Grant SATURDAY COMPETITION With a view to further encouraging Rugby Football in the echools, the Hastings Rugby Football- Sub-Union last evenjng decided to make & grant of £20 to tfie Hastings Primary Schools Association, for the provision of /apilities for the game in the various primary schools. For some weeks past a special swb- . committee of the union has been iavestigating the matter of deyeloping a Rugby sense among tho boys attending the schools, for it has been real'ised that it is only by fostering the schools game that the sporfc am eontinue to hold the big sway it does in our nationai life, Several discussions with representetives of the association xesulted in' a number of recommendatione being made, aud the sub-union decided last evening to make the grant of £20. It was also decided to approach the Schools Association with the suggestion that, in addition to the weekly mid-week games between the .school fifteens, a competition should be eonducted on Saturday mornings.
