BLACK & WHITE PLATES
Re-Registration of Cars Begins on June 1 Although the Te-registration of motor vehieles does not come into force until .lune 1, some applications for registra tion have been dealt with already by the motor-registration branch of the Hastings Post Office. The plates this year will have white lettering on a blaek background, the range of numbers in this district being from 4920.1 to 52100. As the number of vehieles registered in Hastings has shown a remarkable mcrease during the year, it is expected that the total applications will be very heavy. For this reason it will relieve the last-minute rush to a great ex'.ent and help the staff handling the work if motorists will re-register as early as possible. As yet, applications have been coming in slowly, but as the final date approaehes the volume will no doubt increase, eulminating, it is anticipated, in the usual rush during the last few 1 :i v a.
