Enthusiastic Annual Meeting At Waipukurau

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. That parents should make a point of attending functions organised by the Waipukurau Home and School League, with a view to meeting teachers and discussing affairs of the school, was the opinion expressed last night by the headmaster of the Waipukurau School, Mr V. Parsons," at the league's annual meeting. The function was an enthusiastic one and did much to increase the spirit of co-operation between parents and pupils. The following evecutive was elected for the ensuing year: Mesdames L. lienner, A. S. Annand, A. Tucker, D. Wilson, V. King, H. de Lacey, R. McLean; Messrs F. Burfield, J. A. McLean, J. Rapley, A.' Tucker, A. Young and G. Hall. Mr G. E. Fowler was re-elected honorary auditor and waa thanked for his past services. Mr Parsons said that the school deeply appreciated the work done by the league. When he first eame to Waipukurau he had been impressed by the school' s equipment, which had been made available only through the efforts of the league. His remarks were endorsed by Mr W. Phillips ,a member of the sehooFs staff. He paid a tribute to the league and the school committee for the excellent work done, particularly on the grounds, which had been improved beyond recognition. At a subsequent meeting of the league's committee, Mr A. Young was elected chairman and Mrs L, lienner honorary secretary.
