Waipawa Bainfall. The rainfall in Waipawa for the month of April was only 1.06 ins., making a total of 7.44 ins. since the beginning of the year. The total for the corresponding period last year was ovej 17 inches. Dance at Porangahau. The East Coast Dog Trial Club held its annual dance in Porangahau, there being 65 couples present. Music was provided by Anderson's orchestra, Mi Jenkins was M.C. Waipawa to be Decorated, Business people have responded well to the canvass for contributions to cover the cost of carrying out a uniform scheme of decoration for the Cotouation next week, abont £40 having been subscribed. The main Btreets will be festooned in red, white and blue, relieved at intervals with banners and streamers. The county will be represented by an arch to be erected op- 1 posite the county ofiices. A procession is to be held on Coronation Day, and there is every indication of an exceedingly fine display. Wairoa Rainfall. The rainfall for Wairoa for April, as recorded by Mr O. 0. Mackay at To Putaputa, Ohinepaka Yalley, was 2-61 inches, made up as fqllows; — 3rd. .72; 4th. .67; 5th .10; 6th .21; 17th .60; 19th .21; 24th .10. The total for the present year is 9.53, wldch is a good deal below the average for many yeare past.
