Lively Interest in Hamilton REMOVAL OF HILL

HAMILTON, This Day. Lively interest was taken in a ratepayers' poll to remove Garden Placo Hill in Hamilton last evening, and after a record poll the council's scheme to remove the hill was beafen by 213 votes. The council planned to raise a loan of £89,000 to remove the hill, whieh is in the centre of the town, and to Igy out a civic square and make business sections available. They estimated that the return would be over £90,000, with additional benefits and rates and rents. FeeKng was running high over the past week,, and mor© than twice as many people voted as Voted for the last" loan for waterworks in 1928.
