HUGE SYDNEY FIRE
£100,000 Damage In City Blaze (Eeceived 28, 11.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 28. A five-storey building, oecupied by Grimley Limited, in The Broadway, was destroyed by fire early this morning. The damage is estimated at £100,000. Three shops in the front of the buildings were also razed by the fire, which was heralded by a series of terrific ex: plosions. The flames spread among inflammable stocks, including paintB and spirits, with amazing rapidity. Every brigade in the city area attended and only strenuous efforts of the firemen preVfinted the flames from spreading tb other buildings in the block, which included Grace Bros huge emporium. Eight families in homes at the rear of Grimley 's raced for their lives when the flames threatened to ignite the houses.
