PUPILS' WORK AT HOME
Assignments Faithfully And Well Done TEACHERS' THANKS The headmaster of Mahora School, Mr. E. Bissell, has reported to his committee on the work of the pupils concerning the daily assignments set during their absence from school on account of the infantile paralysis epidemic. He states that he and his staff were agreeably surprised with the industry of the pupils, and their efforts to do the work set. It is indeed astounding that 91 per cent. of the pupils handed _ in written work, some filling two exetcise books, ' vdid Mr. Bissell. "Each class teacher has examined this work as recorded in the special exercise books, and after cliccking results has reported that most of the pupils had done the work in a eeat and Orderly manner, with some bc.oks showing excellent workmanshi]>. ' ' The mechanical arithmetic and tables were well done, and special crfldit is to be given to the parents for the supervision of this work, and in some iuSt&nces insisting that it be done. Methods had been introduced by the class teachers whereby the spelling and geography would be tested. The written work on these subjects ha been very Well dotte. " Notwithstandiug the broken first ten work on these subjects had been ion, will be abfeast of the year 'g work by the ettd of the year," he said. "This opinion is based on the gratifying percentage Of pupils working the tests. I take this opportunity of thanking the parents for -their hesrty co-operation."
