CORONATION BALL

Arrangements Discussed A meeting of the general committee in charge of the Coronation Ball, to be held in the Hastings Assembly Hall on May 12, was held last evening iu the Council Chambers, the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, presiding. " Reportittg On behalf of the programme sub-committee, Mrs W. B. Stead said that dt had been decided to name the various dances throughout the evening after Eoyal nomenclature — viz., Windsor, Balmoral. Mrs iL Cashmere reported that the decorations subcomroittee had evolved a scheme which it was felt would be admirably suited to the occasiou and be unique. There would be usfe made of shields, buntdng, flags and red, white and blue flowers, and coloured lights. [tt regard to the last-mentioned item, an appeal was made for assistance, and Lt was decided to appoint Mr J. Hill to this subcommittee for the purpose of lending assistance in the dnstallation of the lights. It was reported that Miss M. Ebbett was arranging for the making of posies and ribbons for sale at the ball. The proceeds from these would go to the King George V. Memorial along with the proceeds fom the ball. Mrs W. Richmond reported that arrangments had been made for the deCoratdon of the supper tables, and this work would be carried out the day before the ball.
