Mr Alec Grant, advance agent for "The Marous Show," is in Hastings. Mr W. Shire arrived at Wellington from Dannevirke yesterday on the first stage of an extended visit to Bombay, India. . The Bev. C. S. Wall, who has been stationed at St. Augttstine's parish Napier, since July- last, has received notice of his appointment to the position of vicar at Ngaruawahia. He will leave Napier on Friday. Mr L. O. .Hooker, Hawera, will retire shortly from the presidency of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand. The president-elect is Mr H. K. Douglas (Wellington), Mr J. fl. Williams, president of the New Zealand Trotting Association, is in St. George' 8 Hospital, Christchurch, where he underweflt a minor operation. He is now reported to be making good progress. Mr. W. H. Taylor, Waipukurau representative of the Herald-Tribune," has accepted an appointment with the Cetttral Hawke's Bay Press. Mr. Spencer Triggs, of the Napier office Of Hawke's Bay Newspapers Ltd., has bden appointed ' manager Of the firm'S Waipukurau branch. Mr W. E. Hyslop and Mr Jack Hyslop, of Hastings, are leaving towards the end of next month on an extended tour abroad. Mr W. E. Hyslop will spend most of his time at Hawaii, and -Mr Jack Hyslop, after a call at this place, will go on to England and Scotland. They both expeet to be away from Hastings for some months.
