WAIPAWA, This Day. A meeting of the sports committee of the Ooronation Day celehrations was held last evening, Present: Messrs F. Eagle, N. Verran, N. Wiseman, J. Vaughan, E. J. Watts and F. Adeane. A comprehensive programme of sports events for children was drawn up, including races for boys and girls, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15; tricycle races for children under 8; two 'handicaps of 100 yards for 16 years and over, boys and girle; open obstacle races. Owing to the expense invoived it was decided uot to include chopping and «awing events, but if sufficient inducement offers there will be a tug-of-war for a sweepsfake. Arrangements are being made for tbe preaenlation of a Coronation medallion to every ebild who takes part in the sports. Mr Watts intimatcd that the school staff would co-operate in eupervising the children's events.
