! iFrom
! WAIPUKURAU, This Day. It was reported at the Waipawa ■ iiospital Board meeting yesterday that iio applications had been received for Ihe position of resident medical oiiicor which had been rendered vacant by the resignation' of Dr. A. G. Bell. The medical supexintendent, Dr. W. 13. Fisher, said this gave rise to a very uAvkward position and suggested that the work done by Dr. Bell might bo carried on temporarily by shanng it between Drs. Raymond, Norris and himself, all of whom were in the habit of visiting the hospital fairly frequently. He did not think it would be fair to ask Dr. Coutte to assist as he would have too far to travel. On the motion of Mr N. G. Hawthorn it was decided to write to the Health Department iaying tlio mat'ter befoie" them and asking if they could suggest any way out of the difficulty, and that in the meantime the medical superintendent be authorised to make arrangements, if possible, with ^he other medical men in the district to carry on. The chairman was given poAver to act in the matter of advertising the vacancy again.
