Closing Postponed. Owing to the rain which commfenced I in the morning and continued during" the greater part of the day, the Waipawa Bowling Club was compelled to postpone the official closing of the green, which was to have been held on Saturday last. Lodge Meeting. The fortnightly meeting of the Juvenile branch of the Loyal Abbotsford Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held on Friday night, there being a very good attendance of members. P.G.- Bro.- E. Kingston acted as supervisor. Eegret was expressed at the departure from Waipawa of Sister M. Egglestone and Bro. R. Egglestone, and they were accorded musical honoura. Norsewood R.S.A. At a meeting of the executive committee of the Norsewood and District Branch of the R.S.A., held at the school, Messrs. R. Benbow (Ormondville), E. Smith. (Makotuku) and A. Jonasen (Whetukura) were, subject to their consent, elected members of the management committee for the curfent year. Further, it was decided that the Anzac ceremony be hel'd on Sunday April 2B, at 10.30 a.m., in lieu of 2.30 p.m., as previously arranged. The service wiH be conducted by the Rev. S. B. Corbin, of Ormondville, in collaboration with Captain Spillet, of the Dannevirke Salvation Army, which body will also supply the band. The guard of honour will be provided by cadets from the Dannevirke High School Battalion, under Major E. N. Hodben, principal of the school, who will deliver the address. Details in connection with the R.S.A. 21st. anniversary dance were finalised and the committee are sparing no effort to make the dance worthy of the occasion. Strong Room-Too Small. .... «• At the monthly meeting of the Central Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board the secretary-manager, Mr. G. E. Fowler said that the steady demand for electric ranges were continuing. Owing to the steady growth of business, he said, the office strong room had becomo too small for the staff's reqnirements, and suggested that the whole matter of office accommodation be referred to the committee for a report. School League Soclal. Another successful social and dance was held in the Waipukurau District High School by the Home and School League. TheTe was a large attendance. A Monte Carlo competition was won by Mr. T. Davey and Mi'ss Halford. Those responsible for the success of the evening were: Mesdames L. Renner, R. McLean, H. De Lacey, H. Martin, Messrs. H. Martin (chairman), C. F. Haycocy, V. King, J. White and M. Roberston. .A euchre tournament arranged for the npn-dancers was won by Mrs. G. Davis,- Mrs. D. Urquhart being second, in the women 's section. Mr. P. James and Mr. W. Bird wero second in the men's section. Frost at Waipukurau. Seven degrees of frost was legistered in Waipukurau this morning, being the heaviest for some considerable time.
