CAR STRIKES BANK

Accident Near Eskdale A lucky escape from serious injury waa experienced by Mr G. • HomeDouglas, Coote road, Napier, when the car which he was driving turned off the road into the banlt at a spot juet past Eskdale last evening. Had the turn been in the opposite direetion. a fall down a steep bank awaited tlie motorist. Mr Home-Douglas, with Mr J. Le Quesne as passenger, was driving toward Napier at about 10.15 last evening, when, at a spot about 15 miles from Napier, the' car turned into the bank. Although mudguards and radiator were damaged to some extent, the car was able to proceed under its own power, and neither driver nor passenger was injured.
