QUIET WEDDING IN WAIPUKURAU RECENTLY
• HASTIE — BURGESS A quiet wedding was solemnised lasl Wednesday evening at St- Andrew'f Churchj Waipukurau, when. Annabella eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Burgess, of Porangahau road, was married to John, second son of Mrs and the late Mr John Hastie, Stirlingshire, Scotland, The ceremony was performed bj the JRev. Hutchison, and Miss King presided at the organ. The bride entered the church escorted by her father, and wore a gown of magnolia satin, the bodice having a square neckline, with a spray of orange blossom in front. She wore cream. brocaded shoes, and the beautiful embroidered tulle veil fell to form a train and was arranged with a coi'Onet of orange blossom. She earried a shower bouquet of roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. The- bride was attended by her sister, Miss Barbara Burgess, who wore a dress of floral georgjstte. The bodice was full and shirred at the waistline and had short puffed sleeves. She earried a bouquet in autumn tonings. Mr W. Brooking attended the bridegrooni as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Ruahine tearooms, where Mr and Mrs G. Burgess, parents of the bride, r« eived their guests. The honeymoon is being spent on a motor tour of the. north. The bride travelled in a navy blue costume with accessories to tone. _ On their return Mr and Mrs J. Hastie will reside at Olrig, Hastings.
