(From Our Own Correspondents) Norsewood Golf. The management committee of the .Norsewood Golf Club met recently, ,rhen the aecounts of the recent elfort to raise funds for improvement of the links was presented. A balance of £10 forms a satisfactory basis for putting the work in hand. Railway Cricket Match. An excellent game of cricket was played over the week-end betweea Dannevirke Railwaya and Waipukurau Railways, the former team winning by 34 runs. . At the conclusion of the day's play Mr P. McLaggan thanked Dannevirke for the excellent hospitality that had been shown, Mr Findlayson suitably responding. In the first innings Dannevirke made 47, improving at the second strike to register 89. Waipukurau xeplied with 56 and 46. Porangahau Tennis. The Porangahau Tennis Club held its closing day last week-end. A large number of players were present and the weather was most pleasant. A Yankee tournament was played. • P. Maroney and E. Turnbull were the finners, and Miss Douglas and BY Wehikore the run-ners-up. Mr Lancaster commented on the season's play and hoped the players had enjoyed themselves. He presented the cups given by Miss Treacy and won by Miss White and Mr Rickey. Qn the day's tournament the winners 'and runners-up were presented with- trophies. In conclusion Mr Lancaster thanked • the club 's officials, esspecjally the secretary, Miss Douglas, for . their work during the seaison. Ormondville Ladies' Golf, A meeting of the ladies' committee of; the Ormondville Golf Club was held on Saturday afternoon, Mrs W. A. Trask presiding over a good attendance. A provisibnal programme for the season was discussed and arranged. It was decided' to divide the players into two grades, B and C, play and handicaps to be as under L.G.U. xules. Three handicap -cards are to be returned on or before April 28, two of which cards may be competitions arranged for this month. Mrs W. A. Trask and Mrs D. Dow were appointed joint liandicap managors. Following is the rcsult of the mixed foursome, played over tlie week-end: Mrs B. Morrison and G. Pori were the winners, with a not score of 56, otlier good cards being: Mrs W. A.,.Trask and W. A. Trask. 68, Miss Noel Chadwick and W. M. Cliadwiek 68, Miss Snaddon and R. Chadwick 68, Miss J. Morrison and T. Morrison 73, Mrs N. Fitzgerald and J. Fitzgerald 76, in eacl> case the scores being nefc.
