The annual meeting of the AshleyClinton Women' s Institute was held on Marclx 26, there being a fair attendance.. Mrs PeiTy presided. The following officers were eiected: President, Mrs Derry ; vice-presidents,' Mesdames U. Thomsen and V. Britten; secretary, Mrs Hanna ; assistant secretary, Mrs lf. Severinsen; treasurer, Mrs Persin;

j committee, Mesdames Olsen and Howbd ' and Misses Wilson and Damp. ComI petitions for the afternoon were won by Mrs Hollin. Potatoes, Mra F. ttereri'nsen, 481bs 1, Mjsb O. Severinsen. 371bs 2. i Arrangements for the 5th birthday were made, Mrs Olsen kindly offering to ma&e the cake and Mrs Hanna to ice it. The prize for most competitions entered throughout the year was won by Mrs Severinsen. The National Anthem brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. .
