Waipawa Meeting The moutMy meeting of the Waipawa Women' s Institute was held last week, Miss Jull presiding over a fair attendance of members. Miss Jull OUtlined a scheme for the pi-oposed Mary Bibby Memorial Pirze, and invited sliggestions for a Buitable competition. It was decided tbat on each meeting during the year a competition for the best bloom should be held, also that a ccGk>ldeii Thread" competition be itiaugurated introducjng some interesting fact each day about women of other lands. An invitation was received to attend the Ashley-Clinton birthday on April '5i9. The president intimated that the liandicrafts exhibition would be held at Dannevirke on May 29 hnd asked that as many exhib'its as possible be forWarded. Arrangements were finalised for the Chrysanthemum Show to be held 011 th© afternoon of May 4 A general sale will be run, also a mystery "bring and buy" stall, The following prizes were distributed: Potato, Mrs A. Logan 1, Mrs Spuires 2; bottled fruit, Mrs Mitchell ]unr; thrift article, Mrs Dalton* Mrs Pratley's special points prizes, Mrs Glenside and Mrs Mitchell junr. A competition for the best bloom was won by Mrs Mitchell junr-.,' and for "Busters", Mrs Dalton 1, Mrs Towers junr. 2, and Mrs Grenside 3. The following new members were eiected: MesdamesvDoran, Marsh. Watson and Dickinscn. A vefy interesting address on blood transfusion was given, being couched in simple terms Under standable to everyone. At the conclusion of the address tlie speaker was thanked for the very interesting and instructive manner in whtich he had dealt with so impor tant a matter. A song guessing competition was field and created a great deal cf amusement, A delightful afternoon tea was served by tlie hostesses, Mesdames Kingston, Towers (2), Thompson and Petherick, and the meeting closed.
