First National has given the picture and elaborate and lavish production, with hospital and battlefield scenes that tear the heart out and thrill one with the glory of men and women who give their lives for a cause. The picture's background is unique, its setting built on a mamothe scale. There is an exceptionally large and talented cast of principals, with more than a thousand players in small roles or extra parts. Miss Francis is always a finished actress, but never has she been more splendid than in the role of Florence Nightingale. She gives to the charaeter the fire of enthusiasm that makes it live and breatbe on the screen
