Successful Waipawa * Function

(From

WAIPAWA, This Day. The Waipawa Plunket Society 's annual ball was an outstanding success, and the funds of the society will benefit considerably as a result of the elfort. The members of the Plunket Committee had worked untiringly to bring about this success, and it must have been very gratifying to them to see slich a large attendance. For non-dancers a bridge tournament had been arranged, the prizes going to Mrs Dailey and Mr Egglestoae. Mrs Collins (Otane) won the prize for the hidden number. Excellent music for the daneing was provided by Redward's orchestra, and the dhties of M.C. were very capably carried out by Mr R. Bishop. Mr C. G. E. Harker was in charge of the bridge. The hall had been. prettily decorated with balloons and streamer.s, while the front of the stage was festooned with greenery and flowers. The credit for this splendid display must be given to Mrs H. Bryant. A delightful savoury supper was served in the concert hall, the supper tables presenting a very pleasing sight with their decorations of coloured streamers and flowers. A statue waltz competition was won by Mr Paul Edwards and partner.
