Ferry Boat Watchman Missing

WELLINGTON, This Day. James Alfred Button, nightwatchman on the Eastbourne ferry boats, is believed to have been drowned. His coat and waistcoat were found on one of the boats and his bicycle on the wharf with the lamp still lit. When the discovery was made this morning a search was at once instituted and dragging operations were undertaken. A Harbour Board diver went to Days Bay this afternoon to assist in the search. Button is middle-aged and has a young family*
