Abandonraent oi Morning Service in Auckland ARCHBISHOP'S REQUEST
(By Telegraph—
. AUCKLAND, Last Night. ' i The morning eommemoration service usually held in the Town Hall on Anzac Day is to be abandoned thisj year, as it is felt such a service heldj at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 25, wouldj interfere with the jregular morning ser-j vices in the various churches. This! aetion has been taken by the Anzac Dayj Commemoration Committee following) representations by Archbishop Averill. ; This follows the precedent created in' 1926 when Anzac Day last fell on a! Sunday, but in that year the citizens'; commemorative service was held in the afternoon. A similar course will not be possible this year, as the soldiers' ceremony at the cenotaph- is. now held at 3- * . •
