WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
.Weber Meeting Mrs W. Franklin presided over a good attendance of members at the April meeting of the Weber Women 's Institute. After the roll call Mrs Sedcole gavo a most interesting talk ou her reeent trip to Milford Sounds. On behalf of the members Mrs Matheson proposed a hearty vote of thanks to . Mrs Sedcole for her very deseriptive and interesting talk. The- hostesses, Mrs Reisima and Mrs Matheson then served afternoon tea. Correspondence and .business were dealt with. It was decided to send' two delegates to the Women 's. Institute Federation at Waipukurau this month. Freparations for the bazaar to be held at Weber on April 9 were made. In future the judging of competitions will be as follows: Cooking, Mrs W. Franklin; .flowers and sewing, Mrs Matheson.. The competitions, a jar of plus jam, and the prettiest bowl or vase of flowers attracted many entrxes, the winners being Mrs Franklin and Mrs Allaway respectively. Before the meeting was brought to a close, Mrs Franklin demonstrated the planting of bulbs in fibre. A happy meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthein.
