MANAWATU RACING CLUB

Meeting Opens on Friday The Manawatu Bacing Club's autumn meeting, which is the last of the important autumn meetings, will be held on the Awapuni racecourse on Friday and Saturday next, April 9 and 10. The club has been fortunate in securing exceptionally large acceptances, and with the promise of large fields in every event there should be a very largeg attendance and some first class racing.

The fields mclude the best nandtcap form in ihe' Dominion, and should make i'or spirited speculation. The admission eharges to the lawn have been reduced, end this should have the effect of inereasin'g the attendance. The course is in splemdid order and conducive to good racing and fast tiines. The totalisator will be run on the single-pool system, paying 75 per cent ior first and 25 per cent for second dividend. The first race each day will start at 12.15 p.m. The usual railway excursion rates will he a vailable
