(Received 5, 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, April 4. The Paris correspondent of The Times says: "A new form of reductio ad absurdum, which is a favourite French political weapon, has been invented by M. Jacques, Communist Mayor of St. Denis, an inner suhurb oi Paris, and founder of the Popular -Front. "M. Doriot, because the Goveinmenl banned his election meetings before the Clichy riots and the French law holds that two persons make a private gathering and three a crowd, announced his intention of holding separate meetings for each of the 24,000 municipal voters. The first meeting was solemnly held in the Town Hall. M. Doriot was alond on the platform and the audience conInsted of the door-keeper, whom M, Doriot conscientiously addressed for an hour regarding local affaira. "A xesolution asking the Minister of the Interior to-approve municipal gatheringa was unanimously adopted by the audience and the meeting broke ut> without disorder."
