AUCKLAND, Last Night. "We have all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our short stay in New Zealand/' said Mr. Alien, capfcain oK the English cricket teani prior to'sailing on the Mariposa on Baturday evening. " We are most grateful to the New Zealand Cricket Council and the xnany others who have dorie so much towards getting us here and making us so welcome. I hope for the sake of the men who will be members of the team visiting Australia in four years' time ,that this short visit will be repeated." Mr. Allen said he had played against previous New Zealand teams and had always enjoyed the matches. He had seen the Dominion's representatj,vcs in aetion in Wellington recently and he would closely follow their progress under English conditions. "I wish them the very best of luck and think they will do pretty well." The touring party was farewelled on the Mariposa by Messrs. Luttreli and Wanklyn, representing the New Zealand Cricket Council, and by Messrs. Fee (chairman) and members of the management committee of the Auckland Cricket Association
