DeeTr-Stalkers' Successful Easter Trip A hue 12-pointed, the pick of a bag of 45 head of deer slxot by, a party of four over the Easter holiday period, was dispatched from Hastings " this .morning for mounting at Wanganui. The party, which was composed of Constabl© C. P. Foote, of Hastings, his brother, Mr A. R. Foote, of Okawa, and Messrs D. Bell, of Wanganui, and I, Bell, of Wellington, worked their way up the Ngaruroro Biver into the district between Te Ruatakaikare and Te Kaiterara. "Some of the district was very tough going, but it's great deer country," said one member of the party to, a Herald-Tribune representative this morning. "There are plenty of hinds to be had, and they are in excellent condition. We saw a surprising number in herds of about 20 or more, and they appeared to bc continually on the move from the busli areas to the more or less open spaces, wliere there was short scrub and fern." The party were out for eight days and cqllected 45 siags, eight, ten and eleven-pointers being frequently eollected. "The pick of Ihe lot, tliough, was tlie 12-pointer," our informant added. "It was a real beauty and one of the best I've seen. AVe were very proud . of it and intend to have jt mounted."
