Warden — Hickman
The wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Hastings, on Monday evenihg of Mary lsobel, only daughter of Mr and- Mrs S. E. Hickman, Nelson street, Hastings, and Geoigje,- only son of Mr and Mrs G. Warden, of Wanganui. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell officiated at the ceremony and Mr J. . Corbett, presided at the' oxgan. While the register was being signed Miss ' Laure] Curry sang ''Rest In the Lord."
The church was most beautifully decorated with flowerg in pink shades and l'eathery greenery. Over each aisje and also where the bride and bridegroom stood were floral arches with wedding bells suspended in the centre. The very dainty bride wore a gown of White georgette, the skirt flared into a train whieh was ornamented witti tiny sprays of orangie blossom. The skirt was joined at the waistline with a wide band of sbirring and a tiny frill and the corsage was most beautifully pin-tucked in a V shape. The long Bleeves were puffed above the elbows ani pin tuck'ed and were fitting from elbow to wrist. Her plain tulle veil was edged with a frill forming a shell di'.ign at the tx-ain and was worn u double pleated h'alo witb sprays of ora-ig'e blossom at each side. She wor3 sdver ki'I shoes and carried au axmshower oi white flowers and xeriM Sho carried a handkerchief tliat had been made by her great-grandmother for her own wedding. Mr S. E. Hickman gave his daug/hter away. The two bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Storrer (Christchurch), the bride's cousin, chief, and Miss Doris Bott and their gowns were of selfembossed georgette made exactly alike, the chief made in dusky pink and the other in catkin green. The skirt was cut with kilted frills forming a petal effect, the back petal being slightly trained. A sash was tied in a large soft bow at the back and the short sleeves were cowled and puffed at the shoulder. A medici collar of silver laixie finished the neck which was caught to a heart shape in front with a clasp of brilliants. Each maid wore a scalloped halo of silver' lame, silver kid shoes and carried an arm-shower of pink carnations, asters and fern. A crystal trinket box and a gold bang/le were gifts from the bridegroom; Oxi leaving the church, the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by, Miss Jean Perrin. Mr Gordon Spurdle was the best man apd Mr Ronald Pririoe,- of Wanganui, the groomsman. About 80 guests were later enterfcained at the Rialto tearooms where tbe usual toasts were honoured. The bride cut her three tiered square wedding cake whieh wa$ made and given by Mrs G. Warden, the bridegroom's mother. Mrs S. E. Hickman wore a frock of
deep blue mariette with a small natural posy of red flowers at the neck in front. She carried a matching posy and wore a navy blue hat with a red carnation trimming the front. MJrs G. Warden, the bridegroom's mother wore navy figured marocain gown and a navy coat and hat. She carried a bouquet in autumn shades, all the flowers having been given by Mrs, 11. Warden. When the bride and bridegiroom left for their honeymoon whieh is to be spent in the South Island the bride travelled in a frock of lido blue afglialaine with stitehed satin collar and sleeves full at the shoulders. She wore a navy peach bloom hat with quill in paler blue and a squirrel necklet, the bridegroom's gift. Her coat was of navy and grey diagonally striped boucele and she wore navy accessories. Mr and Mrs George Warden will in iuture reside in Wellington. Relatives pr^sent at the wedding were: Mr and Mrs J. Storer (Christchurch), Miss V. Baynes (Christchurch) Miss S. Hickman, Mrs Bradshaw, Mrs P. Hansen, Miss B. Fergusson (Wellington^, Mr and Mrs B. Shearer and family (Lower Hutt), Miss. Mary Warden (Wanganui).
