GIFT EVENING FOR A BRIDE-TO-BE
A very pleasant evening was epent at the home of Mr and Mrs A. Flack, junr., AUerton road, for their sister Miss L Flack. The drawing-room was arranged axtistically with pretty bowls of zinnias and asters and autumn-tinted flowers. Many games and competitions were indulged in, and the winner,s of these were Miss L. Burns, Wairarapa, Mrs Humphreys, Miss W. Ballard and Mr J. Thomas, junr. After a delicious supper, thq guest-of-honour opened her parcels, which wero a splendid array and very iueeful. Mrs J. Vance thahked the guests on her behalf. The guest-of-fionour wore a pretty red and black silk dress shirred at the neck and sleeves. The hostess wore a blue floral dress, with a pretty pleated organdie collar. Among those present were: Mesdames Flack, junr., A. Flack, snr., Wells, Thpmas, senr,, J, Thomas, junr., Howell, Goodall, Hrunphreys, Atkinson; Misses E. Burns, W, BallaTd, O. Howell, V. Humphreys, A. Archibald; Messrs A. Flack," junr., A. Flack, senr., J. Vance, E. Munson, D. Ryan, J. Thomas, W. Wells, D. Humphreys, J. Atkinson.
