PUKETITIRI FAREWELL TO POPULAR TEACHER
The Puketitiri Public Hall was the scene of a very enjoyable evening on Saturday, the gathering being a farewell to Miss M. Waitere, who leaves on transfer for Palmerston North on Thursday, Miss Walters has been infant mistress at the Puketitiri School for the p&st two years, and this conscientious and popular teacher will be gjeatly missed. » Mrs. Skinner, who spoke on behalf of the Women 's Institute, Teferred to the splendid manner in which Miss Walters had carried out her duties as secretary to the Institute and said they were losing one of their keenest tod mofet valued members. Mrs. Skinner then made the presentation on behalf of the Institute. Mrs. H. Nickolls made a presentation on behalf of the Basketball Olub, of which Miss Walters was a very keen member. Mr. F. Cribb made a further presentation on behalf of the school children. Miss Walters • f eelingly replied. Dancing was enjoyed till midnight, when a very jblly evening waa concluded.
